Alumni Scholarship eligibility requirements:

  • You must be a graduate of a Strayer or Capella University Bachelor’s program.
  • You must be a new student registering for the winter, spring, summer or fall 2021 terms for any eligible Strayer University graduate program. 
  • This scholarship does not include Degrees@work, or Verizon Onsite. 
  • In all cases, the scholarship is at Strayer's discretion.
  • You must complete at least one course in your first quarter to remain eligible.
  • You must meet all Strayer University admission requirements by program.
  • This scholarship may be combined with the Graduation Fund, but cannot be combined with any other scholarships/tuition discounts.  
  • This scholarship will be applied to the student's account in four equal disbursements of $1,000 during the student's second, third, fourth and fifth quarters after starting coursework in the program. If a student does not complete a course during a quarter where the scholarship is disbursed, the student forfeits that disbursement.
  • No refund will be issued on unused scholarship amounts.
  • You must maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.5 or greater). In any quarter following the quarter where a student fails to maintain good academic standing, disbursements will be forfeited until the student returns to good academic standing.
  • You must be in good financial standing with the university ($0 past due balance).
  • This scholarship applies to course tuition only. All other books and fees must be paid with a separate method of payment. 
  • For students whose tuition is billed to an employer or sponsor, the scholarship is applied first to tuition charges, and then the sponsor is billed the net tuition amount (to the extent tuition benefits are available).
  • No student, immediate family member, or household member may be currently employed by the university, the university's parent company, or any other subsidiary of the parent company. 

Eligibility requirements

  • Must be a new or readmit student registering in the summer 2020 term for a master’s in information assurance or information systems program. This scholarship does not include Degrees@work, or Verizon Onsite. In all cases, the scholarship is at Stayer’s discretion.
  • The student, any immediate family member of the student, or household member of the student may not be currently employed by the university, the university’s parent company, or any other subsidiary of the parent company.
  • The student must complete a course during the summer 2020 term.
  • The student must meet all Strayer University admissions requirements by program.
  • This scholarship cannot be combined with any other scholarships or tuition discounts.
  • This scholarship will be applied to the student’s account in six equal disbursements of $1,000 during the students first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth quarters after starting their coursework in the program. If a student does not complete a course during a quarter where the scholarship is disbursed, the student forfeits that disbursement.
  • No refund will be issued on unused scholarship amounts.
  • The student must maintain good academic standing (GPA 3.0 or greater). In any quarter following the quarter where a student fails to maintain good academic standing, disbursements will be forfeited until the student returns to good academic standing.
  • The student must be in good financial standing with the university ($0 past due balance).
  • This scholarship applies to course tuition only. All other books and fees must be paid with a separate method of payment.
  • For students whose tuition is billed to an employer or sponsor, the scholarship is applied first to tuition charges and then the sponsor is billed the net tuition amount (to the extent tuition benefits are available).

Referral Scholarship eligibility requirements

  • You must have been referred to Strayer/JWMI by a current adjunct faculty, dean, full-time faculty or staff member (part-time or full-time) of Strategic Education, Inc. Referrals from ANZ employees, SEI contractors, federal work-study employees, or provisional/temporary/contingent employees are not eligible. 
  • You must be a new student registering for the fall 2021 term in a Strayer University bachelor’s degree program. You are not enrolling in a certificate, associates, masters, or Devmountain program. 
  • You meet Strayer University admission requirements by program. 
  • You are not currently employed by the university, the university’s parent company, or any other subsidiary of the parent company (Strategic Education, Inc). 
  • Once the tuition cap of $15,000 is reached, you will no longer pay tuition, technology fees, or the diploma conferral fee. Your course tuition and technology fees paid prior to reaching the tuition cap will contribute to reaching the $15,000 tuition cap.
  • You are required to pay for books, course materials and non-obligatory fees with a separate method of payment for the duration of your program. These costs do not count toward the tuition cap and are not covered once you reach the tuition cap of $15,000.
  • You will maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.5 or greater for graduate) and good financial standing. If you do not, you will no longer earn toward the tuition cap or receive the tuition and fee benefits. If you fail to maintain good academic standing, in the quarter following the quarter when you fail to maintain good academic standing, the discount will be cancelled until such time that return to good academic standing. 
  • If you drop or fail a course, that tuition charge or any withdrawal fees will not accrue toward the $15,000 tuition cap. Only courses successfully completed count toward the $15,000 tuition cap. 
  • If you drop or fail a course after hitting the tuition cap, you will be responsible to pay any withdrawal fees. Only courses successfully completed will be covered by the tuition cap benefits and not have a tuition or technology fee associated after reaching the $15,000 cap. We will cover the cost of a retake if it is successfully completed.  
  • If you choose to change to an ineligible program, discontinue or withdraw (either actively or administratively) from Strayer, you will become ineligible for capped tuition. Under no circumstance will recipients be eligible for a cash payment or any other compensation for the value of unused tuition cap benefits.
  • If you take two or more consecutive quarters off, you will forfeit the tuition cap and any benefits associated. You will not be permitted back into the program if you are readmitted into the university. You will lose any credit accrued toward your $15,000 cap. You will have to pay for any remaining classes.
  • You will be held to academic consequences of withdrawing from or failing any course. 
  • This tuition cap benefit may not be combined with the laptop offer, other scholarships, corporate alliance discounts, tuition discounts, SEI tuition assistance or Graduation Fund.
  • You are not enrolled in a Degrees@Work program or VerizonOnsite.
  • In all cases, the tuition cap benefit program is at Strayer University’s discretion.

*This offer is not available to: (a) continuing students; (b) employees of Strategic Education, Inc. and its subsidiaries, and family members residing in the same household of such employees; (c) students enrolled through Strayer@Work or Degrees@Work; or (d) students who have taken advantage of the bachelor’s transfer $20,000 tuition cap. For all other students, a laptop is available only to Strayer University students who: (1) are a new or readmitted student in a Strayer University bachelor’s-level program; and (2) have at least six courses to complete in their program. Students must complete three of their first four quarters of enrollment, or return the laptop to avoid a $350 charge. This offer is subject to change at any time. Only one laptop will be provided per student. In the event the laptop is damaged, lost, stolen or incapacitated, Strayer will not provide a replacement. All returns subject to return policy. Complete details are available in the bachelor’s laptop agreement or the bachelor’s laptop Verizon and Verizon Wireless loaner agreement, as applicable. Students receiving tuition assistance from Verizon or Verizon Wireless may only borrow and use a laptop subject to the terms of the bachelor’s laptop Verizon and Verizon Wireless loaner agreement. Limitations for other corporate-sponsored programs may also apply. Please contact your home campus or Strayer online for more information.

Eligibility requirements and other details

  • Books, supplies, and other fees apply.
  • Developmental courses (08X/090/091), transfer credits, courses completed prior to readmission, and courses passed by placement exam are excluded from this program and do not count toward earning tuition awards. Fund must be redeemed for final courses leading to the completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Successful completion means earning the grade required by the curriculum as outlined in the Strayer University catalog.
  • New or returning students enrolling in bachelor’s or master’s degrees (graduate students must be enrolled on or after summer 2020 quarter) are eligible. Some groups of students may not be eligible including, but not limited to: students enrolled in a non-degree program, certificate program, associate’s program, or JWMI program, any Strayer University employee (and employees of any of its affiliates or Strategic Education, Inc.) and their dependents, adjunct faculty and their dependents, or students enrolled through Degrees@Work.
  • Unless specified in another offer’s eligibility rules, you cannot combine the Graduation Fund with additional offers. Some of the offers that the Graduation Fund cannot be combined with include, but are not limited to: the Supplemental Assistance scholarship, the Experienced Student Completion scholarship, the Law Enforcement Tuition Assistance program, Complete@Strayer Community College program, and the $10,000 and $20,000 Bachelor’s Transfer Tuition Cap offers.
  • Tuition credit is earned only after successfully completing courses and will be lost if you do not take courses for two consecutive quarters.
  • Students already receiving scholarship aid from Strayer University may not be eligible.
  • Students receiving tuition assistance from their employers through agreements with Strayer University may not be eligible.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Readmit student registering for the summer 2020 term for any Strayer University undergraduate program. This scholarship does not include Degrees@work or Verizon Onsite. In all cases, the scholarship is at Strayer’s discretion.
  • The student, any immediate family member of the student, or household member of the student may not be currently employed by the university, the university’s parent company, or any other subsidiary of the parent company.
  • The student must complete a course in the summer 2020 term.
  • The student must have at least 27 credits (or credits equivalent to six classes) completed at or transferred into Strayer University.
  • Unofficial transcripts can be used for eligibility, but official transcripts are required to award the scholarship.
  • The scholarship credits will start in the term the official transcripts are received and evaluated.
  • The student must meet all Strayer University admissions requirements by program.
  • This scholarship may be combined with the Graduation Fund, but cannot be combined with any other scholarship/tuition discount.
  • This scholarship will be applied as a disbursement of $500 per course, as long as the student remains in attendance, until they reach Graduation Fund.
  • The student must maintain good academic standing (GPA 2.0 or greater). In any quarter following the quarter where a student fails to maintain good academic standing, disbursements will be cancelled until the student returns to good academic standing.
  • The student must be in good financial standing with the university ($0 past due balance).
  • The student must not take off more than two consecutive terms in order for subsequent installments of the scholarship to be awarded. In the event the student loses eligibility, they will not regain eligibility upon readmittance.
  • No refunds will be issued on unused scholarship dollars.
  • Scholarship applies to course tuition only, all other books and fees must be paid with a separate method of payment.
  • For students whose tuition is billed to an employer or sponsor, the scholarship is applied first to tuition charges and then the sponsor is billed the net tuition amount (to the extent tuition benefits are available).
